Finally Finished!!

Image
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In today’s blog I will be telling you what we did in class to finally finish editing our final task. It was a long journey but I am so proud of what it looks like. However, before we get started I have some bad news to share.. The first thing is that Annabel and I’s last group member, Kester, is probably switching schools. This caught both of us off guard because if we have to re-film then we’ll have to re-cast his part. It is also a little sad because we worked on the entire project together and built memories. It is okay though because we’ll all still remember the good times. The second piece of bad news I have to share is about the video we watched. The video says that you have to remove the background from the website you got the text from and I don’t know how to do that with anything that I have, so now we’re back to square one. We also have to find a font for the names of everyone that contributed. The first task was to find anoth

Another Long Class of Editing

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In todays blog I will be telling you what I did to finish most of the editing for my final task. So all that was left was to edit the last scene, which was the longest and most complicated, and to research and add the text message icons. As I've established in my previous blogs, it is my job to put the video clips in the correct order. It is Annabel's job to match the audio with the video since it was recorded on a different device, and it is Kesters job to review it and point out any mistakes.  I start off the editing process and the first thing I did was put together the clips. This scene was the most tedious of all the scenes because it is the scene at the party and when she gets taken. The first part of the scene where the girls get out the car was an easy start because it is one take of a wide shot of the characters getting out the car. When they get in the party that this when it starts to stem away. The camera tracks thro

The Second Day Of Editing

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In todays blog I will be telling you what I did in class with my group members to edit scene two of my final task. If you read the last blog you would know that my group members and I are editing our final task in class at school. Last class, scene one was edited. Scene two was the bedroom scene. There weren't that any problems that came up while editing scene one so I don't expect to many problems with scene two. The jobs we established last class was I line the clips in the correct order of the characters talking. Annabel lines the audio up with the video since it was recorded on a separate phone, and Kester reviews everything to make sure it's smooth. Scene two is the scene where they are in the car singing and dancing to the music. Remember how I said how I didn't expect any problems to for scene two.. well I was in for a treat.  It started off smooth because all I had to do was sort through the videos and find the th

First Day of Edting

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! I todays blog I will be telling you what the first day of editing was like. My group members and I did it together in class so all of our ideas can be incorporated and since I know a little more about editing I am able to share what I know. Just like how the scenes were filmed separately they are going to be edited separately too. The app that I normally use to edit videos is called Inshot. I love it because it has so many features like songs, effects, and animations. The only thing I would say is all it lacks is fonts. I found a solution to that by downloading free fonts online.  The first scene was filmed in the bed room. This scene took the entire class to edit because there were many shots of the different people that needed to be smoothly added together. We didn't even get to finish because the bell rang. On the day of filming, my group members and I looked through the footage and made sure we liked everything but in class we h

That's A Wrap!!

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In todays blog I will be telling you about the last day of filming.  For the last filming day we did the last scene. I wanted to film the scenes in chronological order so that it would all make sense. This scene especially needed to be filmed at night because this is when the girl gets kidnapped at the party. It creates a more suspenseful feeling if it is done at night. Like all filming days I waited for everyone to arrive. Since the scene is a party it needs to look full. The wait time was longer because I had to wait on more people to come but when everyone arrived we got started. Since this was most peoples first day on "set" I gave everyone a run down of what is going to be filmed and how. I just told everyone to act natural and have fun.  As I said in my last blog, we want to have music but it has to be non-copyrighted. My goal is to have the same song that played in the car to fade into the party but that would have to b

The Car Scene!

Image
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!! In todays blog I will be telling you what it was like to film the car scene. The car scene is the second scene in our final task. It is when the three girls are driving to the party. They are listening to music and dancing. It was cool to see my group members and I's vision keep coming to life. The beginning process of filming day is about the same. I waited for my two group members to get here and we planned out what was being filmed and how it was going to get done. Since it's a scene in the car it'll be a lot more complicated to film. Especially because there isn't access to equipment that professions use where they can move the car on a cart. I wanted it to look as realistic as possible so when the camera was on the actor in the passenger seat and the back seat, the car was moving, but when the camera was on the actor "driving" we couldn't move the car because of safety reasons and none of us have our

First Day Filming!!

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In todays blog I will be telling you about the first day of filming. It was super fun and it felt good to get started in the process. So for today we only filmed the first scene which is when the three girls are in the house getting ready. Since we are filming this part at my house I had to wait for everyone to get here before we could start. I had to straighten up my room a little bit but for the most part it was clean from before. When my group mates arrived we planned out what we were doing for the film day. We wrote down that we wanted a close up on the character Ava's face. Since the video shows both the vanity and the bed I prepped the area to look like how my group members and I envisioned it. Once the actors got here we were able to get started. I first gave them my phone so that they could get familiar with the scene that was being filmed. I then made a group chat with everyone in it so they could see the scenes that we wer

Setting Up

Image
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!! In todays blog I will be telling you about the process of me setting up my room for filming. As stated in a previous blog, part of my final task will be filmed in my room. Today I had to make sure my room was clean for filming. I wouldn't say my room was dirty, but it was very unorganized. There were clothes all over the floor and things weren't where they needed to be. The first thing I did was my clothes. Since most of them were dirty I just separated them into piles and washed them. When everything was finished I was able to put them all away. Next I made up my bed. I need to get into a habit of making up my bed and this was a great time to start. In the story board of my final task there are many shots of one of the characters on the bed. It might look bad if they are sitting on a bed that isn't made up but when we starting filming we might change our minds and make the bed look slept in. After that I vacuumed and moppe
