Production Blog: Music

Image
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!! In my last blog I don’t you about my rough cut. As well as some additional things I did that day. Today I continued editing my part of the video. That is what’s todays blog is going to be about. Today I decided to tackle adding the music and adjusting the length of the clips based off of that. Annabel and I both listened to the song a decided on where we wanted to make the cuts. The music video could only be at most one minute and fifteen seconds so it was a little hard to decide. Since we did plan for the beginning of the music video to have some talking the duration on the song had to be less. The cut between the songs isn’t very seamless but you probably can’t hear it if you aren’t listening for it. After taking my half I put it over the clips and they were longer than the song. It made me sad because I hoped that I wouldn’t have to make any sacrifices on what to keep in. Instead of just taking an entire scene out I made the scenes

Production Blog: Rough Cut

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In my last couple blogs I talked about the process I went through while filming the music video. The project doesn’t just stop there. It has to be edited. In todays blog I will be telling you what I’ve done so far to start up the editing process. Annabel and I decided to split up the clips. She took the first half and I would take the second half. We would edit it and she would send it to me. I would put the two together and that would be our completed music video. So the first thing I did is what I call a rough cut. I went through each clip and cut out unnecessary things. Pauses that don’t add to the story. Some scenes were shot multiple time so I cut out the unusable ones. Only keeping the ones that were good takes. I really wanted to have bloopers because we laughed a lot during the filming process. Whenever there was a funny part I part or if we laughed I would move that to the end so all the bloopers would be in one place. That way

Production Blog: McDonalds!!

Hello and welcome to or back to my blog! In my last blog I talked about what my group members and I did that Sunday when we went to the park. In this blog I will be telling you about what I did last weekend for the music video.  One of the props needed for the music video was some sort of food. When I got the Annabel’s house the only thing I saw was goldfish but her mom was willing to bring us to McDonalds. When we got to the McDonald’s we went into the drive through. I ordered nuggets and fries because I was hungry and the food used in the video we we’re gonna eat. Her mom offered to get us ice cream so I also asked for a caramel Sunday. The only thing needed for the video was the bag. It just needed to look like there was food in it but we thought might as well get food too. After getting back to the house I first tried filming the scene where he drops off the food from the inside but the lighting was off. The sun was behind him and because of that it made the scene appear really da

Production Blog: Going Outside And The Park

Image
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In my last blog I talked about the process of filming the beginning scenes in the house. In todays blog I will be talking about how I did the scenes outside the house and the park. I met everyone at Annabel’s house the next day. We looked out our storyboards again and discussed what we were going to do. In the story board I wrote that the argument is brought outside. So when filming I did a tracking shot so the camera would be walking with them as they talk. Since I didn’t want to throw an actual phone incase it might break, a phone case was used instead. It gave an illusion of a phone being thrown when in reality it was just the phone case. After this things got a little complicated. Our female actors mom is very strict on her driving so we had to figure out a way to still shoot the scenes how we wanted but also respect her mom’s decision. We did that by filming her going to sit in the front seat but when it was time to drive away Anna

Production Blog: Starting The Music Video At The House

Image
Hey guys and welcome to or back to my blog! So today I am going to be telling you guys about what I’ve done with the beginning of filming our music video. So I got to Annabel’s house a little after three. Our starting time was three but I got there a little late. When I got there our female actor Jaelis was already there but we decided to wait on our male actor Aurum to get there before we started. Even though we started a little late it didn’t negatively affect how much time we took to shoot things. It was my first time at Annabel’s house so I was a little nervous but I warmed up after a couple minutes. After I put my stuff down Annabel and I sat at the dinning room table and spread out our story boards. As well as the angles that we wanted to make sure we’re in the video. After making our plan for the day we started. We did a couple practice rounds first of what they were going to say in the beginning before we shot the actual scene. We had to play around with the lighting over Anna

My Group For The Music Video

Image
Hello and welcome to or back to my blog!! Last blog I introduced myself. Told you guys a couple facts about me. Today I will be telling you about the group I am in for my music video! In this project I will be working with Annabel and Kester. I knew Annabel because she is a friend of one my close friends. We ended up in the same class period and because we only really knew each other we decided to work together. It was funny because after we finished learning about the project when our teacher sat down we looked right at each other. We knew we would be working together.  She also has a friend named Kester that she sits by in class. When Annabel and I were brainstorming ideas and talking about the music video Kester would input ideas. Some were funny and some were stuff that we decided we could incorporate. From there he was added into our group. The song we chose to do for this project is Gonna Love Me by Teyana Taylor. We listen to a bunch of songs before we decided on this one. I tho

Introduction To The Music Video

Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!! My name is Jahziah. In todays blog I will be telling you some things about me. I am a sophomore in high school. I don’t dislike school but it’s not my favorite place to be. Something that gets me excited to go to school is remembering that I’ll get to see my friends. It makes going to school worth while. One thing I really enjoy doing is hanging out with my sister. We love to laugh together at a bunch of random things. We watch movies together. Sometimes she watches them without me. She’s my only sister and since a great one. I love having her around. I do YouTube and I enjoy the process of filming and editing my videos. There’s endless possibilities of what you can film. You can choose the edit your video any way you want, incorporating new styles. Although you should stick to a niche because it might overwhelm your audience. The process of all of that is something that I like to do. I don’t listen to music a lot so I don’t have a favo
