Production Blog: Going Outside And The Park
Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!
In my last blog I talked about the process of filming the beginning scenes in the house. In todays blog I will be talking about how I did the scenes outside the house and the park.
I met everyone at Annabel’s house the next day. We looked out our storyboards again and discussed what we were going to do. In the story board I wrote that the argument is brought outside. So when filming I did a tracking shot so the camera would be walking with them as they talk. Since I didn’t want to throw an actual phone incase it might break, a phone case was used instead. It gave an illusion of a phone being thrown when in reality it was just the phone case. After this things got a little complicated.
Our female actors mom is very strict on her driving so we had to figure out a way to still shoot the scenes how we wanted but also respect her mom’s decision. We did that by filming her going to sit in the front seat but when it was time to drive away Annabel was the one that drove. Then when it was the shot in the window I just moved the camera instead of the car moving to create a “driving” affect.
After that everyone packed into the car and we drove to the park. At the park there was a play ground, a trail, a mini basketball court, and a swing set. Taking advantage of all those things I filmed her sliding down the slide. I also filmed her walking down the path, and playing on the basketball court. Since I wanted a cameo we went on the swings with her. Even though Annabel didn’t want to be in the video her mom encouraged her to and we got our cameo together. In the story we would just be strangers. After getting all the scenes at the park we went back to Annabel’s house and looked at the clips we got for that day. Then I waited for my mom to pick me up before I went home.
