Short Film Research: Election Day; Thriller

 Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog! In todays blog I will be telling you some Thriller conventions I noticed from this short film.


  • A long pan/establishing shot as we get to see the school. A lot of medium long shots and close ups on objects.
  • This was a thriller set at a high school so at some points they played the typical high school tv show background music. I really liked the use of hallway chatter in the background of the two characters dialogue.
  • All of the costumes, lighting, acting and so forth were very knish for high school students.
  • The element of the thriller genre that I think was executed well was the plot twist/reveal in the end. I also like how it was a small flash back moment which helped understand it better.
  • There wasn't anything I didn't like. If I had to pick something I would say the camera quality but it is understandable because of how long ago this was made.

 Hello and welcome to or welcome back to my blog!! In todays blog I will be telling you about the process of me setting up my room for filming. As stated in a previous blog, part of my final task will be filmed in my room. Today I had to make sure my room was clean for filming. I wouldn't say my room was dirty, but it was very unorganized. There were clothes all over the floor and things weren't where they needed to be. The first thing I did was my clothes. Since most of them were dirty I just separated them into piles and washed them. When everything was finished I was able to put them all away. Next I made up my bed. I need to get into a habit of making up my bed and this was a great time to start. In the story board of my final task there are many shots of one of the characters on the bed. In todays blog I will be telling you some other information about my short film Schedule Sunday, January 26th Sunday, February 2nd Sunday, February 9th Location My moms office Park My bedroom Living room Mall/Beach/Nature walk (whatever the cast is able to get to) Participants Ella Laiel Luken Jaxon Elise Audrey Azanah Jahmiah Johnnie Chloe Fortune Celiana Health and Safety Since there are many different locations than just my house the group of us will need to drive everywhere. To make sure everyone is safe we will have enough cars so everyone is able to sit in a seat belt. Production Blog: McDonalds!!

 Hello and welcome to or back to my blog! In my last blog I talked about what my group members and I did that Sunday when we went to the park. In this blog I will be telling you about what I did last weekend for the music video.  One of the props needed for the music video was some sort of food. When I got the Annabel’s house the only thing I saw was goldfish but her mom was willing to bring us to McDonalds. When we got to the McDonald’s we went into the drive through. I ordered nuggets and fries because I was hungry and the food used in the video we we’re gonna eat. Her mom offered to get us ice cream so I also asked for a caramel Sunday. The only thing needed for the video was the bag. It just needed to look like there was food in it but we thought might as well get food too.
